In the North, 1.46 million pounds worth of drugs have been seized in a major crack-down.

The campaign is a joint initiative between the Policing and Community Safety Partnerships and Crimestoppers to tackle street-level drugs and drug dealing across Northern Ireland.

The 'Drug Dealers Don't Care, Do You?' media campaign was launched in Belfast on February 9th and included television and radio advertising as well as online and outdoor media material.

In the following two months, police carried out 1 thousand 8 hundred and 23 searches and made 704 seizures.

1.46 million pounds worth of drugs were seized - the majority being herbal cannabis - along with 44 thousand pounds worth of cash.

357 people were arrested during this time, of which 78 were charged.

The operation has now concluded, but the PSNI says drugs will remain a priority for them.
