SIPTU has requested an urgent meeting with the management of Bristol-Myers Squibb following news of 160 job losses at the American pharmaceutical company in Dublin.
130 workers at its Cruiserath manufacturing plant in Dublin 15 were told that the plant will close, with the loss of all jobs, by the end of next year.
While 30 jobs will be lost at Swords Laboratories, which is part of BMS.
The company says the closure reflects changing market demand.
SIPTU organiser, Michelle Quinn says the workers didn't see this coming.
