A 17 year old has died in a road crash in Co. Sligo overnight.

The single vehicle collision happened on the Pier Road at Enniscrone at around 1.45am when a van hit a wall.

The male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene while the 18 year old driver was uninjured.

The scene is currently closed while Gardaí carry out a technical examination.
