A Garda investigation is underway after two viable explosive devices were found in Cavan Town.

An Army Bomb Disposal Team was called in last night after the improvised devices were found at a derelict house in the Aughnaskerry area.

The improvised bombs were made safe at the scene and removed to a military location.

The devices are being examined and will be handed over to Gardaí for use in their investigation.
