Two male elderly pedestrians have been knocked down and seriously injured by a stolen car which was being pursued by gardai at Parteen, Co Clare.

The office of the Garda Ombudsman has been informed, and a search is underway for two young men who fled the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local Garda station.
