2 people in serious condition after Galway crash

A man and woman, both in their 70s, are in a serious condition following a road crash in County Galway.

The two car collision happened on the N59 at Kylemore near Clifden, at 6 o'clock yesterday evening.

The pair were airlifted to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries.

The occupants of the second car were taken to Castlebar Hospital with minor injuries and have since been discharged.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

7 people have lost their lives on the nation's roads this week.

The latest victim was a motorcyclist who died in a crash in County Wexford.

The 38-year-old was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a car near Campile at around 11 o'clock last night.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

The fatal victims of this week's crashes included new mother Nicola Kenny from Thurles, and Dubliner Donna Fox who was hit by a lorry while cycling in the city centre.
