More than 20 people have been killed and 36 injured following attacks on police and military targets in the Sinai Peninsula.
Egyptian state TV say wide-ranging attacks involving a car bomb and mortar rounds struck the Northern Sinai provincial capital el-Arish, the nearby town of Sheik Zuwayid and the town of Rafah bordering Gaza.
An office of Egypt's state newspaper al Ahram has also been destroyed in the attack.
