The Peter McVerry Trust is opening 20 new Cold Weather Beds for homeless people in Dublin today.

The homeless and housing charity has recently opened 12 new studio apartments and a new family service that will help 17 adults and 27 children move out of emergency hotel rooms before Christmas.

It says the 20 new beds will reduce the number of people sleeping rough in the city.
