Just 20 people have applied to come to Ireland as asylum seekers - under a scheme to relocate people from Syria and Iraq.
The Government has agreed to take in 2,600 people - through European Union efforts to provide homes for 160,000 people from war torn countries.
The Irish times reports the first Syrian family to arrive in Ireland - will come from Greece by the end of this month.
