Gardaí in County Limerick have marked the 20th anniversary of the death of Detective Garda Jerry McCabe this morning.
A wreath has been laid on the site where the 52-year-old was shot dead during a raid on the post office in Adare on the 7th of June 1996.
The father of five was killed four months after the breakdown of the first IRA ceasefire.
Four IRA members were convicted of Jerry McCabe's manslaughter but his widow Ann claims his death was 'plain murder'.
