A man in his 50s has been arrested, after almost a quarter of a million euro worth of cannabis plants were seized in county Offaly.

Gardai from Tullamore and Edenderry, assisted by the Regional Support Unit, searched a house at Coolcor in Rhode yesterday.

300 plants were seized and a 50 year old man was arrested.

He's being held at Tullamore Garda station.
