Revenue officers have seized 25 thousand pounds sterling at Dublin Port.
The cash was discovered during routine screening by cash detection dog, Meg yesterday.
It was detained under Proceeds of Crime legislation from a 37 year old man from the North.
He had arrived into the port from Holyhead.
