A 29 year old man has died following a crash in County Longford yesterday afternoon.

He was the driver of a van which hit a tree in Ballinalee at half past two.

The man was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar, where he later died.

The road is closed for a forensic examination.
