A 3 year old boy has died and a 36 year old woman remains in a critical condition following a two car crash in Co Monaghan yesterday.
The crash happened on the main N2 Dublin to Derry Road at around half past six yesterday evening.
Two women in the second car were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
The 36 year old driver of one of the cars was taken by air ambulance to Tallaght Hospital in Dublin where she remains in a critical condition.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses. They are anxious to speak to a lorry driver who stopped at the scene of the collision.
