Over 300 bags of rubbish were collected from beaches on the Northside of Dublin this morning,
in a major clean up operation after yesterday's soaring temperatures.
Clean up crews from Fingal County Council started work at 6 o'clock this morning in an attempt to tidy up after sun-seekers.
Paul Smith, Senior Executive Officer in the Operations Department at Fingal County Council, said 200 bags of rubbish were collected from Portmarnock beach alone.
Mr Smith said people should use the bins provided on beaches, or bring their rubbish home with them.
