300 Jobs Are To Be Created In New Limerick Manufacturing Plant

300 new jobs are on the way to the mid-west.

Pharma giant Eli Lilly has announced it'll be hiring 300 new staff as it makes a major investment in a new manufacturing plant in Limerick.

The company, which produces injectable medications, will fill roles across a range of specialties, including engineers, scientists and operations personnel.

500 more people will also be temporarily employed in the building of the facility.

The proposed plant, which still requires planning permission, will be built at the IDA's Raheen Business and Technology Park.

Senior Vice President with Eli Lilly, Darin Moody, says Limerick beat off stiff global competition to win the investment.

He pointed to the reliable and highly skilled workforce as a major driver in their decision while the strength and proximity of universities was another attractive bonus.
