A new study by software company Citrix and parenting site EUmom, has also found this is costing businesses over 68 million euro a year as they attempt to replace lost skills.
Around 8 thousand 200 mothers will seek a new job with more flexible hours while, 3-thousand leave the workforce every year because of the high cost of childcare.
900 pregnant women or mothers were surveyed for the study, which found half were not happy with government measures in relation to childcare.
