A 32 year old man has been killed in a single vehicle crash in Co Louth this morning.

The accident happened at around 1 am close to Brannigan's Cross on the Collon to Tinure Road, in Collon.

The man who was alone in the car, suffered serious injuries when the vehicle he was driving left the road and struck a ditch.

The scene has been preserved and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will examine the scene later.
