403 People Helped After Taking Drugs At Electric Picnic

The Ana Liffey Drug Project intervened to help over 400 people at this years Electric Picnic.

The majority of those were between the ages of 18 and 22, with 61 per cent being men and 39 per cent women.

MDMA and Ecstasy were the most common substances being used.

The drug support charity worked with the Gardaí, Irish Red Cross, Code Blue and security staff over the weekend.

Volunteers engaged with festival goers before, during and after they reported drinking alcohol and/or taking drugs. 

The team also engaged with people about their sexual, physical and emotional safety.
