Begging offences in Dublin City Centre rose by 415% in 2015.

That's according to new Garda figures which also show there has been a 12% increase in crimes against the person, with the greatest increase coming in assaults.

There was however 28% less cases of possession of firearms, while drug offences dropped by 2%.

Burglaries fell by 16% but public order offences rose 13% in 2014.
