Last year saw a 42 per cent drop in the number of complaints to the Financial Services Ombudsman.

However there was a slight jump of 2 point 4 per cent in the amount of compensation paid out.

The total reached nearly 955 thousand euro.

2014 was the first full year in which the Ombudsman had the power to publicise the outcome of cases they've dealt with.
