There's more than 4 thousand 200 children in Ireland providing unpaid carer work - just over 2 per cent of the total number of carers.
Figures from the 2011 census - released as part of Carers Week - show that 6.2 million hours of care are provided in this country every week, and they're calling for better funding for their work.
