42-thousand people are on a waiting list to be housed by Dublin City Council.

A new report puts together several different pieces of information for the first time including applicants, the amount of time they've been awaiting a home, the number of children each applicant has, and the size of the home they need.

It also identifies the areas of greatest housing need in the Dublin city area.
