Around 46 thousand properties are without power this morning as Storm Doris batters Ireland.

Status Orange and yellow weather alerts are in place across the country.

However Joan Blackburn from Met Eireann says wind and rain will ease off by this afternoon.

Aer Lingus has cancelled 12 flights to and from Dublin and Cork due to high winds.

Passengers traveling on other airlines are being advised to check with the relevant websites.

Drivers are also being advised to take extreme caution on the roads.
