100 members of the Defence Forces have arrived home after a six month tour in Syria.

The soldiers were part of the 48th Infantry on peacekeeping mission in the Golan Heights.

Families await their loved ones at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnell, Co. Dublin.

The 48th Infantry comprised of 130 troops, 100 arrived home today.
