Ryanair's reported a 49 million euro third quarter profit.

That compares to a 35 million euro loss at the same point a year previously.

The airline says it won't engage in speculation on the IAG bid to take over Aer Lingus, of which its a major shareholder, because there's been no formal approach or offer.

However it's restated its position that Ryanair's board will carefully consider any such offer if it's received.
