Members of the public are being asked to stay away from Our Lady's Hospital in Navan after five cases of the H1N1 virus - previously known as swine flu - were confirmed.
In a statement the hospital has asked people to minimise their visits - either to the Emergency Department or to see patients.
It says outbreak control measures have been implemented within the hospital.
The five cases are all on the one ward.
