Five local councils have failed to introduce bans on smoking around children's playgrounds.
Research from ASH Ireland has found that 82 per cent of local authorities have introduced smoke free play areas in parks

Those that haven't singed up yet include Cork City Council, and Roscommon, Louth, Mayo and Sligo County Councils.
The other 26 out of 31 councils have put up signs or introduced bye laws requesting people not smoke in and around their playing areas.
