At least 57 people have been killed after a bus crashed into an oil tanker, igniting a huge blaze in southern Pakistan.

Shortly after midnight the bus was en route from Karachi to Shikarpur, a town in the interior of Sindh province, when the vehicles crashed head-on.

Both immediately caught fire.

At least four passengers escaped with minor injuries after they jumped out of the bus windows.
