Gardai in Dublin say they’re surprised that criminals are using assault weapons – similar to those used by the Irish army.
Five firearms, including three sub-machine guns were seized – along with 5.2 million euro worth of heroin and cocaine in the course of the investigation.

Gardai display evidence, including a blender, used to mix heroin. There are traces of brown heroin on the base of the liquidiser.
Gardai say the seizure this week of over 33 kg of heroin will cause a drought in the capital.
