A 55 year old man has died in a house fire in county Westmeath.
Gardai in Mullingar attended the scene at Jordanstown, Ballynacargy at around 3.30 this morning.
The man was found dead and an 82 year old woman, believed to be his mother, was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar with injuries which aren't believed to be life threatening.
A technical examination is being carried out at the scene, but initial investigations suggest the fire was started accidentally.
