The Irish Naval vessel the LE Niamh has rescued another 551 people in the Mediterranean.

They saved the refugees from a wooden barge off the coast of Libya yesterday.

The LE Niamh also helped to rescue another 700 people from a fishing boat, and they'll return them all to a port in Sicily this afternoon.

The ship has now rescued around 2 tyhousand 500 people in the area in recent months.
