A six year old boy who was seriously injured in a crash in Dublin on Friday has died.

He was hit by a van on the Shanganagh Road in Shankill just before 5pm.

He was taken to Temple Street Children's Hospital, where he passed away today.

The driver of the van was interviewed and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Shankill Garda Station.
