A new Red C poll for Amnesty International also found this increases to 85 percent when the pregnancy is a result of rape.
90 percent support abortion when the woman's health is at risk - followed by 81 percent where there is a diagnosis of a fatal foetal abnormality.
A referendum on the issue is due to be held next year.
