Thunder and lightning storms have left thousands of homes without power nationwide.
The outages are mainly in parts of Donegal, Roscommon, Leitrim, Longford and Cavan.
ESB says the faults are all expected to be repaired by tonight.

Meanwhile, Met Éireann has issued a status orange thunder alert remains in effect for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Offaly, Westmeath and Meath.
Heavy showers are also expected over north Leinster, Ulster and Connacht overnight.
