There's been a fresh call for a reduction in the amount of excise charged on bottles of wine.

It's come from the National Off-Licence Assocation, which has published its pre-budget submission.

It's claimed the drink carries 624 per cent more excise in this country, compared to our European neighbours 

The group wants the rate cut to support small businesses around the country.
