A 70 year old man has been killed in a two car crash in Co Donegal last night.,

The accident happened on the N15 between at Drumcroil, Ballintra at around 10:30 last night when the SUV he was driving crashed into a jeep.

5 people are being treated in Sligo General Hosptial after the crash.

A man and a two women who were travelling in the SUV are being treated at Sligo General Hospital with injuries described as serious but not life threatening.

The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, a jeep, were also taken to Sligo General Hospital with injuries described as minor. 

The road is closed pending a technical examination and diversions are in place.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
