A 70 year old man has died in a road crash in Co. Monaghan.
It happened near Castleblaney on the Ballybay to Carrickmacross Rd - about six miles from Ballybay - shortly before 6 o'clock yesterday evening.
The man was injured after the car he was driving hit a tractor pulling a feeder.
He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes, Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The 54 year old male driver of the tractor was uninjured in the incident.
The stretch of road is closed this morning and Gardai at Carrickmacross are appealing for witnesses.
