70,000 rock fans will converge on Slane Castle in County Meath today to see Foo Fighters.

The American rockers are headliners at the 28th major gig at the venue, which has played host to legendary names including Bob Dlyan, David Bowie, Oasis, U2 and Bruce Springsteen.

With wet and windy weather forecast for later, concert-goers are being reminded to dress for the rain.

Slane Castle owner Lord Henry Mountcharles says it is only the 2nd time in the history of the concerts that one has been held in May - the last time was headlined by Guns N'Roses in 1992:
