At least 717 people have been killed in a crush during the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says that as of now - there is no indication of any Irish people being caught up in the stampede.

It happened on the outskirts of Mecca, which sees two million visitors for the pilgrimage each year.
