Almost three quarters of those who complete CoolmineÂ’s drug treatment programme are drug free two years after rehab.
The study, carried out by Trinity College Dublin, also found that almost every graduate of the programme - 98 percent - had stayed out of crime.

Some of the main findings of the longitudinal study;
- 72% of Coolmine clients are illicit drug-free two years after treatment
- 98% of clients not engaged in criminal activity after 24-months
- Client employment rose from 3% at intake to 25% after 24-months
- Engagement in education rose to 17% after 24-months
- Significant improvements in all health outcomes
- 23% of clients with acute housing problems two years after treatment
