An 80 year old couple have crossed the finish line of the Cork City Marathon hand in hand today.
Kay and Joe O'Regan, from Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, have been married for 57 years. They finished the race in 5 hours and 24 seconds.
They ran their first marathon when they were fifty, and crossed the finish line holding hands. Joe says they wanted to recreate the moment today.
Damien Coleman from Blackrock GAA club broke a Guinness World Record today for running the whole marathon while soloing with a hurley and sliotar in 4 hours 28 seconds!
Another Guinness World Record has been beaten by Gerard McLean who ran the Marathon in full paramedic gear, including steel toe capped boots in a time of 4 hours 29 minutes while raising funds for East Cork Rapid Response.
