The High Court has approved an €8.5 million euro final settlement for a 12 year old boy who suffered catastrophic birth injuries at the Coombe Hospital.
Eoin Dunne from Malahide in Dublin has dyskinetic cerebral palsy, is wheelchair dependant and can not communicate verbally.
Two years ago the hospital was found liable for his injuries and he received an interim compensation payment of €2.9 million euro.
The court heard his condition may have been caused by an 8 minute resuscitation delay.
