A 36-year-old woman has been arrested after cannabis worth ninety four thousand euro was discovered in dried fish during a raid in Galway.

A search took place at a house in Knocknacarra earlier, as part of a joint operation between Gardai and Customs, and just under 5 Kilograms of cannabis was seized.

The drugs are believed to have originated in West Africa.

An Irish woman was arrested at the scene and is being held at Galway Garda Station.
