95 per cent of advertised rental properties are out of reach of people receiving rent supplement.

That's the finding of a new report by the Simon Communities of Ireland which has repeated its call for the government to increase the payment.

The charity carried out the survey over 3 days in November in 11 cities and towns nationwide.
