Almost 100 puppies have been seized at Holyhead port, after being illegally shipped from Dublin.
The planned seizure was part of Operation Delphin - a joint Irish-UK initiative targeting puppy smuggling.
The puppies included Beagles, Cocker Spaniels and Yorkshire Terriers.

These are all described as ‘very profitable’ breeds by the DSPCA amd could have been sold for a combined €40,000.
The puppies have now returned to Ireland and are being cared for by the DSPCA at their centre in Rathfarnham.
