A 19 year old man has been killed in a crash at Geashill in Co. Offaly.

The two car collision happened at around half past one on the Tullamore to Portarlington Road.

The 19 year old was the driver of one of the cars, a passenger in the same car was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital.

The male driver of the second car was also taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Garda Forensic Collision investigators are at the scene and the road is currently closed between Geashill and Clonygowan.

This brings to 164 the number of people who have died on our country's roads this year.
