Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a collision claimed the life of a woman in Co. Carlow yesterday.
At around 6:10pm four vehicles collided at Knockloe on the Tullow/Shillelagh Road.
A 61 year old female passenger in one car was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene - she was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem is expected to be carried out later today.
The 71 year old male driver of this car was also injured and was taken to St Luke's hospital for treatment.
The 45 year old male driver of a second car was also was taken to St Luke's hospital for treatment, meanwhile, the drivers of the other two cars were uninjured.
The road was closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and has since re-opened.
