Gardai have arrested a man in connection with an incident last night in which a helicopter crash landed next to a pub in Longford.

Two men miraculously escaped injury when the helicopter crashed into the function room of the Rustic Inn Bar in Abbeyshrule just after 9pm last night.

This evening they arrested a man in his early 60s in Dublin.

The man is being held at Longford Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
