A man has lost his fight for life after his boat capsized on the River Shannon in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at around half past four at Castleconnell boat house in Limerick.

Three other men - aged in their 20s and 30s - are still being treated for hypothermia at University Hospital Limerick.

This afternoon Gardai confirmed a 28 year old man died in hospital from his injuries.
